Talent Story – Esa Tiusanen, Consultant
Who is Esa?
My name is Esa Tiusanen, and I’m a consultant at Columbia Road. One funny fact about me is that I’m actually M.A., major in history, but my path led me from research world to marketing and working amidst digital marketing, SEM, SEO, and analytics.
What hardware do you use?
I have Lenovo Yoga 3 Pro which can be used both as a laptop and a tablet. It’s super light, handy and nice to use, and I especially like the pen feature. My phone is OnePlus 5.
And what software?
I mostly use Google Analytics, Adwords, Adwords Editor and Facebook Business Manager, and sometimes R if I’m working with challenging numbers. I also use Ahrefs and Screaming Frog every now and then.
What would be your dream setup?
I actually already have everything that I need on my table, but a data source combination setup could be nice. Alexa would be fun too!
What is your favorite programming language/tool and why?
How did you hear about Talented and how did your process go?
It was a coincidence. I was a bit dissatisfied with my job last spring and I ran into your Facebook ad, clicked, liked your concept and left my contact information. I noticed afterwards that my profile didn’t really match with your desirable profile (developer/designer), but I guess I was digital enough because you wanted to have a chat with me. It took maybe a month to get the first interview but it didn’t bite. Quite soon Talented introduced me to Columbia Road and arranged an interview, and I’ve been working there since January.
In the beginning, you got to tell us about your preferences for jobs and companies, so has your new job matched with your expectations?
So far my new job has matched my expectations very well! I wanted to work with both analytics and customers, and that’s what I’m doing.
How did we do?
I think you did great, I have nothing to complain about. If something I was surprised how actively you kept in touch whether it was giving me some advice, asking how I was feeling about everything and how things would go forward.
How would you describe Talented to your friends or anyone who is looking for new challenges?
The word to describe Talented is personal. The process is about you. They want to get to know who you are and find you a good match(job).
